Born and raised in Michigan by an architect and a reading consultant, I fostered an early appreciation for the written word when my mother made me give her oral book reports on everything I read, from The Diary of Anne Frank to Hans Brinker, or the Silver Skates. to Anna Karenina. I started writing stories at age 7 and began composing music for piano at age 10. I didn't start seriously pursuing romance writing until shortly after my wedding in July 2011.
I earned a BA in English: Creative Writing from Western Michigan University in 2007. After I graduated, I worked briefly as a waitress/hostess on Mackinac Island. My work experiences there inspired the location for my latest novel, Island Girl, in which two island employees fall in love in the heat of danger. In 2009 I started my master of library and information science degree online through San Jose State. By 2010 I relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area where I did an internship in records management at the Exploratorium in San Francisco. When I lived in the San Francisco area, I met my true love at a Bible study. We dated for two months before we got engaged and were married five months later. We currently live in Dallas, Texas with our two cats, Butterscotch and Caramel.
Now that I've been actively pursuing writing for two years, I have found my voice in small-town new adult romance. When I'm not writing, I enjoy reading books, books, books, and more books, playing piano, composing music, meeting new people, exploring the area, spending time with friends, and crocheting. My interests include wine, literature, history, and theology.
I am a member of Romance Writers of America, Alpha Chi Omega, and the Sigma Alpha Iota Professional Music Fraternity for Women.
